President Biden posted on Twitter to tout how many times he has bypassed Congress and implemented gun control measures via executive action.

Biden has signed more executive actions on gun violence than any other president and the most significant gun law in 30 years, according to his tweet.

“My administration is taking the crisis of gun violence head on,” he wrote.

“I’ve signed more executive actions on gun violence than any president in history and the most significant law to address gun violence in almost 30 years.”

Since early in his term, Biden has utilized executive orders and actions to impose gun restrictions when Congress did not pass new laws, such as on “ghost guns,” red flag laws, and targeting gun trafficking.

Biden has boasted on multiple occasions, including on Twitter, about the number of times he has circumvented Congress to institute gun controls through executive powers alone.

In 2023, Biden wrote, “Since I’ve been in office, I’ve signed more executive actions to reduce gun violence than any of my predecessors. Earlier this year, I signed an executive order to ramp up our efforts to hold the gun industry accountable, keep firearms out of dangerous hands, and more.”
