Vice President Kamala Harris expressed readiness to step up and serve as president amid growing doubts about President Joe Biden’s mental fitness and electability.

This follows Special Counsel Robert Hur’s report on Biden’s handling of classified material, which highlighted his memory struggles and mental fitness concerns.

A recent poll indicated widespread public doubts about Biden’s ability to serve as president again.

Harris affirmed her readiness to lead, emphasizing her capacity to do so.

“I am ready to serve. There’s no question about that,” Harris said.

Concerns over Biden’s electability have intensified, with attention shifting to Harris as a potential successor.

“There was always going to be a lot of scrutiny and pressure on her in the 2024 campaign, and that moment’s here now,” Jennifer Palmieri said. “I think that the special counsel’s report has sort of accelerated that moment.”

If Biden chooses not to run again, Harris is currently the top choice among Democrat voters, according to a recent poll.
