A bear walked into a garage at Taste by Spellbound in Avon, Connecticut last week and helped itself to 60 cupcakes, leaving workers in a panicked frenzy.
Miriam Stephens, the owner of the bakery, reported that the bear entered the garage while workers were loading cakes into a van for delivery.

A video showed the bear dragging a container of cupcakes into the parking lot.
A worker eventually honked a car horn, and the bear left soon after.

While no one was hurt during the incident, it highlights the increase in black bear-human interactions in Connecticut, where there are between 1,000 and 1,200 black bears living in the state.
In 2022 alone, there were 67 reports of bears entering homes, up from 45 in 2020.
