Aaron Carter’s Autopsy Reveals Cause of Death

Singer Aaron Carter died suddenly at the age of 34.

Carter was a teen pop star in the 1990s and appeared on MTV and Nickelodeon. His brother, Nick Carter, was part of the Backstreet Boys music group. In 2000, Carter’s album “Aaron’s Party” sold three million copies in the U.S.

We have learned the cause of death is that he drowned after taking the drug alprazolam and inhaling another drug difluoroethane.

Alprazolam is another name for the brand Xanax. It’s a sedative and controlled substance that is used to treat anxiety and panic disorder.

Difluoroethane is a colorless gas that is often used in cans of compressed air. It can induce feelings of euphoria.

Carter was found “incapacitated while in the bathtub” at his home in Lancaster, California by a house sitter.

Carter slipped under the surface as the drugs took effect and ultimately drowned.

Police discovered prescription pills and drug paraphernalia in his bedroom.

The manner of death is an accident as drowning is among the leading causes of unintentional injury death. Cater likely lost consciousness.

Singers Whitney Houston and Dolores O’Riordan of The Cranberries were also both determined to have died in their bathtubs by accidental drowning while under the influence.

Houston had cocaine in her system when she died in the tub of a Los Angeles hotel room in 2012, while O’Riordan had alcohol and prescription medication in hers when she died in 2018 in a London hotel.

Carter, who released his fifth and final album, LØVË, in 2018, was remembered in emotional statements shared by older brother Nick Carter, 42, and twin sister Angel Carter, from both of whom he’d become estranged in recent years.
