Lindsey Graham Calls For Special Prosecutor To ‘Look At Hunter Biden Like They Looked At Trump’

Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina recently appeared on “Fox & Friends” and argued that Hunter Biden’s laptop and family dealings should get the same attention as Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russia’s alleged role in the 2016 election.

Graham said the “laptop is real,” and a special counsel is necessary.

A letter was written by Graham and 32 senators who agreed with him to the U. S. Attorney General Merrick Garland.

The letter read, “One-third of the U.S. Senate has signed a letter asking Attorney General Merrick Garland to give U.S. Attorney David Weiss the powers of a special counsel to investigate first son Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings.”

“Given the politicization of the DOJ under your watch and the importance of avoiding any appearance of impropriety, the undersigned request that you provide U.S. Attorney Weiss the full protections and authorities of a special counsel,” the senators said. “This is one important action that you can take that will go a long way in restoring faith in our governmental institutions.”

The U.S. Attorney for Delaware, a Trump appointee, oversees the investigation into Hunter Biden.

“I believe you should have somebody looking at Hunter Biden other than a Delaware prosecutor,” Graham said.

“We’re having a prosecutor in the guy’s home state. The prosecutor is a fine fellow, but can you imagine what the left would do if I suggested we should not have had a special counsel in the Mueller investigation? We had a guy. It worked,” concluded Graham.

Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton was among those who signed the letter organized by Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas).

“I don’t think we can trust Attorney General Merrick Garland not to politicize this investigation the way he’s politicized the Department of Justice,” Cotton said. “Remember last year when he sicked the Feds on parents attending school board meetings or earlier this year when he refused to enforce the law and arrest protesters outside of Supreme Court justices’ homes in clear violation of federal law. We’re not even asking for the appointment of a special counsel as happened, for instance, against Donald Trump. We’re merely asking the attorney general to provide special counsel protections to the U.S. attorney who is already investigating Hunter Biden’s many crimes. I think that’s a necessary step to ensure that that investigation is not politicized.”
