Anti-Trump congresswoman Liz Cheney, who is the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, could soon be losing her job.

Cheney, who represents Wyoming, has become well-known for siding with Democrats and voting to impeach President Donald Trump following the events of January 6 at the Capitol.

She called Republicans “shameful” for denying Trump’s alleged responsibility for the riot. Cheney even joined Nancy Pelosi’s political witch hunt, which claims to be investigating the events of Jan. 6th.

A secret ballot straw poll of Republican party activists has revealed that Cheney is losing to her main challenger in Wyoming — Republican Harriet Hageman.

Hageman, who has been endorsed by President Trump, has a commanding lead over Cheney.

The straw poll gave Hageman 59 votes and a 53 vote lead against Cheney, according to the Casper Star-Tribune.

Cheney only received six votes. Republican State Sen. Anthony Bouchard received two votes and Denton Knapp received one vote.

This poll enables Americans to see what the current party leadership is thinking months ahead of the primary.

Hageman has argued that Cheney is merely using her seat in Congress to pursue a “political vendetta against Trump” instead of actually focusing on representing the people of Wyoming.

She said, “Liz Cheney has lost Wyoming. Liz Cheney doesn’t live in Wyoming. She doesn’t represent us. She doesn’t represent our values.”

In a state party resolution, Republicans also announced that they will no longer acknowledge her as part of the party.

The resolution passed by a margin of 31-29.

Cheney spokesperson Jeremy Adler responded by calling the resolution “laughable.”

In a statement to The Hill, Cheney spokesperson said, “It’s laughable to suggest Liz is anything but a committed conservative Republican.”

“She is bound by her oath to the Constitution. Sadly, a portion of the Wyoming GOP leadership has abandoned that fundamental principle, and instead allowed themselves to be held hostage to the lies of a dangerous and irrational man,” he added.

CNN’s The Lead recently posed the question of whether “there a lane for Liz Cheney in New Hampshire in 2024” in order to run for president.

Senator Ted Cruz of Texas quickly responded, “Yes. It’s called the Democratic primary.”

Cheney fired back calling the GOP “my party.”

She said to Cruz, “I know you’re posturing for the secessionist vote, Ted. But my party, the Republican party, saved the Union. You swore an oath to the Constitution. Act like it.”

The resolution in Wyoming stated, “Previously mentioned in the resolution of censure, Representative Liz Cheney ‘cast her vote in favor of impeachment without any quantifiable evidence of High Crimes or Misdemeanors.”

““As to date, no quantifiable and or undisputed evidence has been offered Representative Liz Cheney to defend her questionable decision.”
