Republican Rep. Devin Nunes of California is calling it quits in Congress, but he’s taking on a major role for President Donald Trump.

Sources told Fox News that Nunes “got a job offer that he can’t refuse.”

Nunes, who is one of the most outspoken defenders of Trump, will be serving as CEO of a newly established Trump media organization.

A statement explained, “Trump Media & Technology Group today announced that Congressman Devin G. Nunes has been selected to join the Company as Chief Executive Officer.”

“Mr. Nunes will be leaving the U.S. House of Representatives and will begin his new role as Chief Executive Officer of TMTG in January 2022.”

Donald Trump commented, “Congressman Devin Nunes is a fighter and a leader.”

“He will make an excellent CEO of TMTG. Devin understands that we must stop the liberal media and Big Tech from destroying the freedoms that make America great,” Trump added.

Under Trump’s presidency, Nunes also received the Presidential Medal of Freedom two weeks before Biden took office.

More from Fox News:

Trump praised Nunes’ “courageous actions” in being a vocal critic of special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election, crediting him with helping “thwart a plot to take down a sitting United States president.”

“Devin’s efforts led to the firing, demotion, or resignation of over a dozen FBI and DOJ employees,” the White House said in a statement at the time. “He also forced the disclosure of documents that proved that a corrupt senior FBI official pursued a vindictive persecution of General Michael Flynn — even after rank and file FBI agents found no evidence of wrongdoing.”

The veteran lawmaker in 2018 released the “Nunes Memo,” which alleged federal surveillance abuses by the Obama administration’s Department of Justice.

“He had the fortitude to take on the media, the FBI, the Intelligence Community, the Democrat Party, foreign spies, and the full power of the Deep State,” the White House statement said.

Nunes will next be at the head of Trump’s yet-to-released social media platform, TRUTH Social.

Trump announced the launch of the social media platform in October, which is slated for full release in 2022.

The new social media platform called “Truth Social” is set to launch in Spring 2022. Trump explained in a statement, “I created TRUTH Social and TMTG to stand up to the tyranny of Big Tech.”

“We live in a world where the Taliban has a huge presence on Twitter, yet your favorite American President has been silenced,” he notes. “This is unacceptable,” Trump continues. “I am excited to send out my first TRUTH on TRUTH Social very soon.”

Trump was banned by platforms like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube following the events of January 6. Democrats pushed a false narrative that the events of January 6, 2021 were an organized attempt supported by Trump to overturn the presidential election result.

An investigative report from the FBI vindicated Trump. It stated, “The FBI has so far found no evidence that he [President Trump] or people directly around him were involved in organizing the violence, according to the four current and former law enforcement officials.”

On the contrary, the FBI found strong evidence that roughly 96% of cases were “one-off incidents” and only 4% could be tied to various militia-type groups. These groups were still not centrally coordinated.

Officials state in the Reuters reports that the events of Jan. 6th at the U.S. Capitol were not “the result of an organized plot to overturn the presidential election result. FBI at this point believes the violence was not centrally coordinated by far-right groups or prominent supporters of then-President Donald Trump,” the report adds.

The new report vindicates Trump as being falsely linked to allegedly inciting or organizing the events of Jan. 6th and wrongfully banned by social media platforms.

A former senior law enforcement official with knowledge of the investigation explained, “Ninety to ninety-five percent of these are one-off cases. Then you have five percent, maybe, of these militia groups that were more closely organized,” he added.

“But there was no grand scheme with Roger Stone and Alex Jones and all of these people to storm the Capitol and take hostages,” he concluded.
