Democratic presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren may be leading the Democratic primary, but a recent answer she gave about dealing with Israel has some people expressing hesitancy about her leading the country.
Speaking to a group of reporters, Warren said Israel should embrace the two-state solution when dealing with Palestinian people in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
“Right now, [Israel Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu says he is going to take Israel in a direction of increasing settlements, [but] that does not move us in the direction of a two-state solution,” Warren answered a question on aid and settlement-building, the Hill reports.
“It is the official policy of the United States of America to support a two-state solution, and if Israel is moving in the opposite direction, then everything is on the table,” she said, repeating: “Everything is on the table.”

What does that mean?
She likened Israel to just another ally in her response—hardly recognizing the integral role the country plays in Middle Eastern affairs and regional conflicts. Warren also failed to address any of the concerns both Israel and Palestinian people have expressed in a potential two-state solution.
The Hill adds:
The Trump administration has largely backed away from criticism of Israeli settlements. President Trump signed an executive order recognizing a portion of the Golan Heights as Israeli territory following the construction of settlements in the area later named after the president.
Warren and some Democrats, including fellow 2020 primary contender Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), have criticized Israel’s settlement construction efforts as well as the Israeli government’s treatment of Palestinian protesters.
Several people drew their own speculation as to what Warren may have meant by “everything.”
Florida Senator Marco Rubio drew attention to Warren’s response, sharing a video of it online.
“This is the alternative they want Republicans to switch to? Help elect a President who threatens to cut off support to #Israel if they don’t cut a deal with an organization whose mission is to destroy the Jewish state?” Rubio asked alongside the video.
