President Trump is continuing to double-down and triple-down and even quadruple-down as people continue to criticize his decision to pull the United States military presence from Northern Syria.
In a tweet on Friday evening, Trump took on former national security advisor Susan Rice, who he described as “a disaster.”
“Remember RED LINE IN THE SAND? That was Obama. Millions killed! No thanks Susan, you were a disaster,” Trump tweeted.

The Washington Examiner reports: “Trump was referring to how his predecessor, Barack Obama, said in 2012 that any chemical weapons use by Syrian forces would be crossing a ‘red line’ that would result in American military intervention. That, however, never happened, even after chemical attacks that were tied to Syrian President Bashar Assad’s forces.”
Rice, who was U.S. National Security Advisor from 2013 to 2017, responded to the president’s tweet by claiming he previously supported her and said she was not getting enough credit for the work she was doing.
“Then why did you come up and hug me at 2015 WHCD when I’d never met you (which was totally gross) and whisper in my ear that I had been ‘very unfairly treated’ over Benghazi and ‘was doing a great job for the country’?” Rice tweeted.

According to the Washington Examiner, the hug at the 2015 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner was described in more detail in Rice’s new book which she promoted during an interview last week with MSNBC.
“He grabs me by the shoulders and sort of pulls me up out of my chair,” Rice said during the interview when asked about the encounter. “I turn around to find that it’s Donald Trump. And then he hugs me. I’ve never seen this man in person before, never met him. He hugs me and while he’s hugging me he whispers into my ear, ‘I think you were very unfairly treated over Benghazi and you’re doing a great job for the country.’”
“I couldn’t have been more shocked both by the hug, which was — I hasten to say the hug itself was not gross, but the whole thing was kind of creepy because I’d never met this man before,” she continued per the report. “But then what he said was most striking because as you know well, he spent many months and years before that, and then every day since, assailing President Obama, questioning his citizenship, and trashing people like me who served with him, with the president every day.”
