Security forces at Joint Base San Antonio engaged in a shooting incident early Saturday morning when multiple suspects in a dark sedan fired upon the main gate of the JBSA-Chapman Training Annex around 4:30 a.m.

The suspects attempted to gain entry but were met with return fire from gate security personnel.

Although the incident is classified as an “off-base shooting” since it occurred near the training annex, approximately three miles from JBSA-Lackland, officials have confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the base, and the shooters do not have military connections.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the area was reopened after investigators completed their work. As of now, details regarding the suspects’ identities or motives remain undisclosed.
