Fox News reported that Angelina Pivarnick, who rose to stardom while starring on the reality show “Jersey Shore”, recently settled a lawsuit she filed against the New York City Fire Department for $350,000.

The former reality star worked as an EMT on Staten Island from 2016-2018. During this time, she alleges multiple violations against two lieutenants which include sexual harassment and groping.

After a year-long courtroom battle, the NY Daily News has reported that the lawsuit is over and along with a settlement payment, the FDNY has stated that they have addressed issues in-house with an investigation that resulted in “corrective action”.

New York City Law Department spokesperson Nicholas Paolucci told the NY Daily News; “The FDNY takes allegations of sexual harassment seriously. Ms. Pivarnick’s claim was fully investigated, and the appropriate corrective action was taken. This settlement was in the best interests of the city,”

In 2019, it was reported that Pivarnick was allegedly targeted by a lieutenant who made sexually inappropriate comments about her body while she was on duty. She accused the same lieutenant of groping her in a parking lot. Pivarnick also accused the leadership of retaliating against her after she complained about being put on cleanup duty. Also included in the report at the time, were accusations against another lieutenant for asking her inappropriate questions about how many men she had sex with while filming the show series “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation.”

Both supervisors were the subject of Equal Employment Opportunity complaints made within the department, according to Pivarnick.

Pivarnick told People magazine after the incidents; “I said when the case was filed that it had nothing to do with television or entertainment and that remains true. Sexual harassment is serious and has devastating consequences for so many women. It has for #MeToo,”

“Although I experienced horrendous treatment at EMS, I’m pleased with the resolution of my case and I look forward to using my voice to speak about the need to protect all women from sexual harassment.” continued the reality star.

Pivarnick has been an on again, off again cast member of two iterations of the Jersey Shore series since the original series debuted in 2010.
