Nikki Haley, the former South Carolina governor and United Nations ambassador, announced her candidacy for president as a Republican, taking on former President Donald Trump.
Trump responded by informing Haley that she is polling at just 1%. “Not a bad start!!!” Trump said mockingly.

Haley vowed never to challenge Trump for the White House in 2024 and called him “the best President in my lifetime.” Now she’s already breaking that promise to Americans.

Trump quickly pointed out Haley’s blatant hypocrisy. Trump said, “Nikki Haley had a hard time making the decision to run for President because she very publicly stated that she ‘would never run against the President. He did a GREAT JOB, and was the best President in my lifetime.'”
“I told Nikki to follow her heart, not her ambition or belief,” Trump continued.
“Who knows, stranger things have happened. She’s polling at 1%, not a bad start!!!” he said.
Trump also hilariously noted that “the greatest thing Nikki Haley did for our Country” was stepping down as governor of South Carolina and allowing “incredible then Lieutenant Governor, Henry McMaster,” to become the next governor of the state.
Trump appointed Haley as the United Nations Ambassador in his administration.
Haley now says she has changed her mind about challenging Trump in recent months because of the country’s economic troubles and the need for “generational change.” Haley has been repeatedly attacking Trump based on his age of 76 years old.
Trump shared reasons not to vote for Haley, which include Hillary Clinton being her inspiration for running, supporting Paul Ryan’s entitlement plan, supporting sending more fighter planes to Ukraine, being weak on immigration, and not supporting a transgender bathroom bill to protect children.
