Actress Katharine McPhee is speaking out about the significant rise in crime in Los Angeles under Democrat leadership.

McPhee, who finished second place in American Idol season five, says she’s holding “woke voters” responsible for allowing the rise in crime to occur.

She also shared a story about an elderly man who was “mugged and beaten up” in Beverly Hills.

“I blame every single one of you woke voters,” she said. “Seniors getting beat up while walking.”

“Keep voting for this,” she added. “What a sad state this city is in.”

McPhee showed support for Rick Caruso for mayor of Los Angeles. He is a former Republican was is running as a moderate Democrat in the city.

“This is literally my worry and thought every time I go out now. We need [Rick Caruso],” she said. “What’s this world coming to?”

“No rings watches or anything out in LA anymore,” she continued.

More from Daily Wire:

Caruso, who is socially liberal, has become a favorite of wealthy celebrities in Los Angeles. Celebs from Kim Kardashian to Gwyneth Paltrow have plugged the candidate on their social media accounts.

The Democrat is running on a message of cleaning up crime and attacking the city’s homeless problem.

“Los Angeles is in a crisis: Homeless, crime and corruption are uncontrolled. This is a moment for someone like Rick to come in and clean up City Hall,” Caruso Senior Advisor Peter Ragone told Axios.

McPhee’s politics are somewhat ambiguous. Though she’s likely socially liberal, the singer publicly blasted media-beloved Democrat Stacey Abrams during the pandemic for famously standing by masked-up kids without her mask on.

“What the actual hell … politicians at their finest,” McPhee wrote. “Mask up the children and you yourself sit without a mask. The hypocrisy continues.”
