Merrick Garland Faces Possible Impeachment Over FBI Trump Raid

U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland is in hot water following the unprecedented FBI raid against President Donald Trump at his private Florida residence, Mar-a-Lago.

Republican Senator Rand Paul says Garland could face impeachment over the FBI raid.

After the midterm election cycle, there could be a full investigation into the raid.

“I think we have to know under what pretense they think this is right?,” Paul asked, adding “This is really something that’s going to require an investigation.”

He continued, “And I wouldn’t be surprised if the investigation leads to abuse of power that this could even lead to an impeachment of the attorney general.”

“And if it warrants it, there’s going to have to be a look at whether or not the attorney general has misused his office for political purposes. Have they gone after a political opponent? I mean, this is beyond the pale… No one would have ever imagined before that we would be using or one political party would be using the FBI to attack their political opponents,” Paul said.

Republican Senator Josh Hawley has called on Garland to resign as well as FBI director Christopher Wray.

Many Americans want to see the FBI completely reformed given the obvious corruption that lead to an FBI raid of Trump’s private home.

“The raid by Joe Biden’s FBI on the home of a former president who is also Biden’s chief political opponent is an unprecedented assault on democratic norms and the rule of law… Biden has taken our republic into dangerous waters,” Hawley said.
