On Sunday, the Biden administration sent chilling instructions to Americans trapped in Afghanistan — hide.

The State Department instructed Americans in Kabul to “shelter in place” as their best chance of survival while reports surface of the airport taking fire.

The U.S. Embassy in Afghanistan said in a statement, “The security situation in Kabul is changing quickly including at the airport. There are reports of the airport taking fire; therefore we are instructing U.S. citizens to shelter in place.”

State Department spokesman Ned Price claim there was no evacuation either in the works or taking place.

Price said, “This is not abandonment. This is not an evacuation. This is not the wholesale withdrawal. What this is (is) a reduction in the size of our civilian footprint.”

“The embassy remains open and we plan to continue our diplomatic work in Afghanistan,” he added.

Even as the Taliban took over Kabul, Western Journal notes that the embassy told everyone that it is necessary to have the proper paperwork in order.

The embassy notice reads, “U.S. citizens wanting assistance in departing the country should register for any option that might be identified to return to the United States, and must complete this Repatriation Assistance Request for each traveler in their group.”

“Spouses and minor children of U.S. citizens in Afghanistan who are awaiting immigrant visas should also complete this form if they wish to depart. Please do so as soon as possible. You must complete this form even if you’ve previously submitted your information to the U.S. Embassy in Kabul,” it said.

“Do not call the U.S. Embassy in Kabul for details or updates about the flight. This form is the only way to communicate interest in flight options.”

Over the weekend, Biden reportedly disappeared from Washington, D.C. as he preemptively withdrew U.S. troops from Afghanistan and allowed Taliban militants to overrun Kabul and take over the region.

This put the lives of American citizens in serious jeopardy at the embassy. The flag was taken down and the U.S. ambassador reportedly fled. The Taliban will very likely terrorize its own people, especially women and girls. They will likely kill anyone who helped us.

Biden left D.C. to go to Camp David, which is the presidential retreat. Biden was slammed for being “in hiding” and “on vacation” while the dire situation unfolded in Afghanistan.

Senator Tom Cotton immediately called the president out, saying “Why is Joe Biden in hiding?”

“He should immediately address the nation and answer for the catastrophic situation in Afghanistan,” Cotton conintueConference calls between cabinet secretaries and senators don’t cut it in a crisis,” Sen Tom Cotton (R-AR) said.

Cotton, who graduated from Harvard College as well as Harvard Law School, also served infantry officer in June and rose to the rank of captain before being honorably discharged in 2009. He served two tours in the U.S. Army — one in Iraq and one in Afghanistan. Cotton was awarded the Bronze Star and the Combat Infantryman Badge.

Rep. Jim Jordan echoed Cotton’s remark by saying, “America’s in crisis. Afghanistan’s in chaos. Why’s Joe Biden on vacation?”

Biden has finally returned to the White House in order to address the nation on the crisis.
