Pelosi’s Response to Taliban Seizing Afghanistan Couldn’t Be More Tone-deaf

Nancy Pelosi is frightfully out of touch with the American people as well as ongoing world affairs.

The 81-year-old multi-millionaire and Democratic House Speaker released a statement on Saturday that praised Joe Biden for withdrawing U.S. troops from Afghanistan. Pelosi praises Biden’s “wisdom.”

However, this decision to withdraw troops has been regarded widely as a massive failure in judgment that has resulted in severe consequences for both Afghans as well as American citizens who are still in the region.

Even more incredibly, Pelosi shows her complete naivety in the statement by stating the Taliban “must include women at the table.”

The Taliban is notoriously a violent and misogynistic terrorist group. Rooted deep in Islamic fundamentalism, the Taliban will not be persuaded to allow women a place “at the table” once it recaptures all of Afghanistan.

Pelosi briefly recognizes the Taliban’s “brutal treatment of all Afghans, especially women and girls.”

But this statement is followed by simply impossible demands that show how out of touch Pelosi is.

Pelosi says, “Any political settlement that the Afghans pursue to avert bloodshed must include having women at the table. The fate of women and girls in Afghanistan is critical to the future of Afghanistan.”

She continued, “As we strive to assist women, we must recognize that their voices are important, and all must listen to them for solutions, respectful of their culture.

“There is bipartisan support to assist the women and girls of Afghanistan.”

“One of the successes of U.S.- NATO cooperation in Afghanistan was the progress made by women and girls. We must all continue to work together to ensure that is not eroded.”

Biz Pac Review says it’s already too late:

“Afghans pouring into Kabul and those still in Taliban-held areas say … Taliban commanders have demanded that communities turn over unmarried women to become ‘wives’ for their fighters,” The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.

This has reportedly been happening for months.

“After the insurgents in late June took the Rustaq district of the northern province of Takhar, a senior local Taliban figure addressed residents in the mosque during Friday prayers. All girls over the age of 15 and widows younger than 40 should be married to the insurgent fighters, he told the congregation, according to a local man who was present,” according to the Journal.

“The man was later summoned and ordered to hand over his 15-year-old daughter. He said in a telephone interview that he fled the area and was trying to make his way to Kabul from the province, whose capital fell to the Taliban on Sunday.”

After issuing her impossible demands, Pelosi then showered Biden with praise, despite critics from both sides of the political aisle blaming him for the ongoing catastrophe.

“Once again, I want to acknowledge the clarity of purpose of President Biden’s statement and the wisdom of his actions,” she said.
