Radical leftists across America have been working to advance so-called “Critical Race Theory” on children in the nation’s publicly funded schools.
Republicans have strongly opposed those efforts.
Critical race theory examines “the intersection of race and U.S. law.” In practice, the teachings are accused of spreading hate and division.
During an interview with Fox News, Somali-Dutch scholar and activist Ayaan Hirsi Ali called it a “nihilistic” practice that will teach children to “hate” one another. This sort of “wokeness” which is become trendy in America merely stokes division, Ali says.
“It divides us into people of different races and it says that these racial differences are irreconcilable and then divisions along gender, along transgender, along immigrants,” she said.
The U.S. Senate has now taken matters into their own hands.
The Senate voted to pass an amendment that would prohibit the federal funding of critical race theory in the nation’s schools.
Republican Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas introduced the legislation. IT was approved 50-49.
Cotton announced, “Our future depends on raising a generation of kids who love America.”
“Growing up I was taught as I suspect that most of you were that America is great and noble in large part, because as Lincoln put it, it’s dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal,” he continued.
“In America, our rights have no color, our law and society should be colorblind, and as Dr. Martin Luther King said, we should all be judged not by the color of our skin but by the content of our character.”

He added, “Sadly today some want to replace our founding principles with an un-American ideology called critical race theory, they want to teach our children that America is not a good nation, but a racist nation. Those teachings are wrong, and our tax dollars should not support them.”
“My amendment will ensure that federal funds aren’t used to indoctrinate kids as young as pre-k, to hate America,” he said, “our future depends on the next generation of kids loving America, and loving each other as fellow citizens, no matter their race,” he concluded.

CRT has been around for decades and was long contained to college campuses but made the leap into public school classrooms as well as corporate boardrooms where employees are forced to undergo mandatory “racial sensitivity” training in which they are made to acknowledge their “white privilege” along with other indignities designed to humiliate them.
Former President Donald J. Trump kickstarted a long-overdue backlash against the poisonous ideology and Republicans have seized on the rejection of the teachings which have been championed by Democrats including the Biden White House as a winning issue in next year’s crucial midterm elections.
Cotton has been at the forefront of the congressional pushback and scored a big win with the approval of his amendment.
