It’s official… The U.S. women’s soccer team has been knocked out from gold medal contention in the Olympics.

They lost to Canada for the first time since 2001.

The team has been widely criticized for spending too much time participating in “woke” protests during the National Anthem.

The satirical magazine Babylon Bee even joked, “Inspiring: US Women’s Soccer Team To Boycott Scoring Goals Until Racism Is Defeated.”

“Maybe less activism and more practice next time,” political commentator Lauren Chen wrote to Twitter.

Daily Wire reported on the stunning loss:

The women’s team, ranked number one in the world and expected to take home the gold, lost 1-0 in the semifinal contest.

The single goal was scored by Canada’s Jessie Fleming late in the second half, a penalty kick that sneaked by backup goalkeeper Adrianna Franch.

“Carli Lloyd — one of several legendary American players on the Olympic roster this year — crouched on the field, holding her head in her hands when the final whistle blew Monday,” The Washington Post detailed. Team USA now has no chance at gold, a feeling Lloyd no doubt was reflecting on.

Team USA got off to a rocky start at the Tokyo Olympics, losing their opener to Sweden 3-0. Notably, before the game, all 22 players took a knee in solidarity with the radical leftist group Black Lives Matter before the game, a major point of contention with U.S. fans.

As noted by Yahoo! Sports, athletes at the Tokyo Olympics were given space to protest before games and events. Team USA knelt before their kickoff, just as players on Sweden’s women’s team did.

Hollywood’s Susan Sarandon continues her left-wing activism.

Most recently, the 74-year-old Oscar winner was spotted protesting outside the office of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in New York. The Independent obtained a video of the crowd and Sarandon showed her disappointment in AOC and “the squad.”

“I’m here to say to the squad, and especially AOC, who, you know did make a lot of promises, that we still have faith in you and we would like to see if you have a better plan than we’ve been able to see, please share it,” Sarandon said. “If there’s a pathway you’ve got that we’re not aware of please share it. Because we’re losing hope here that you represent us.”

“It’s so difficult for people that are independent to get elected in the first place — and then to see the very people that sponsored the bill not stand up for it, is very disheartening,” she concluded.

The protest was advertised as a Medicare-for-all rally and sought to bring attention to the need for “Biden to declare a pandemic public health emergency and expand Medicare to every American using Section 1881A of the Social Security Act”… The protesters demanded AOC and others “use every legislative tool available to pass Medicare-for-all in Congress, including withholding and leveraging your votes to demand single-payer as a condition for passing legislation,” per their website.

They also want politicians to “use your huge social media followings, ability to get press, and celebrity to organize direct actions for Medicare-for-all.”
