The Golden Globes suffered horrible viewer ratings, according to The Daily Wire.

“Just 6.9 million people tuned in to the Golden Globes on Sunday, according to Nielsen ratings. Viewership “barely beat the year when a writer’s strike forced NBC to show a news conference announcing the winners.”

“For a country sick of Zoom meetings, most of the nominees appeared remotely and there was no red carpet. Some stars dressed for the occasion, others didn’t bother. ‘Ted Lasso’ star Jason Sudeikis wore a sweatshirt for his acceptance speech.”

Gervais announced, “If you do win an award tonight, don’t use it as a political platform to make a political speech.”

“You’re in no position to lecture the public about anything, you know nothing about the real world. Most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg. So, if you win, come up, accept your little award, thank your agent and your God — and f*** off, okay?”

In other words, Americans are seemingly watching more TV, but apparently the Globes were not a top priority for them this year.
