During an “Evangelicals for Trump” rally in Miami, President Trump warned his supporters that the Democrats running for the presidency all pose a threat to their religious freedom.
According to the president, “the extreme Left in America is trying to replace religion with government and trying to replace God with Socialism.”
“While certain fads come and go, it’s an eternal truth that faith and family lead to the stability, happiness, and prosperity of nations,” he continued, per the Washington Examiner. “Yet as we speak, every Democrat candidate running for president is trying to punish religious believers and silence our churches and our pastors.”
According to the report, the president’s comments were met by boos from those who are concerned a potential Democratic president would roll back religious freedom in the country.
“Our opponents want to shut out God from the public square so that they can impose their extreme anti-religious and socialist agenda on America,” Trump added.
Trump did offer some hope: Democrats won’t win.
“We can smile because we’re winning by so much,” he said, a clear reference to Trump and the RNC’s fundraising dominance of their Democratic opposition.

Here’s more, from the Washington Examiner:

Trump went on to mock former 2020 Democratic candidate Beto O’Rourke, who called last summer for churches to be stripped of their tax-exempt status if they do not support gay marriage. He urged his evangelical supporters “to mobilize Christian communities across our land” to vote in such a way that would ensure “another monumental victory for faith and family, God and country, flag and freedom.”
Trump is not the only prominent Republican warning that the Democratic Party increasingly poses a threat to people of faith, especially evangelical Christians. Drawing from an interview that persecuted Pastor Andrew Brunson did with the Washington Examiner, Republican North Carolina Sen. Thom Tillis wrote in October that the policies many Democrats are pushing present “a chilling attempt to subvert the constitutional rights of Americans of faith in order to social-engineer our places of worship.”
