Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard is quickly hitting back after accusations surfaced that she is a “Russian asset.”

These accusations are not just coming from the fringes of the internet or troll or bot accounts, they are being pushed by establishment Democratic and twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

“Great! Thank you @HillaryClinton. You, the queen of warmongers, embodiment of corruption, and personification of the rot that has sickened the Democratic Party for so long, have finally come out from behind the curtain,” Gabbard said in a tweet on Friday afternoon.

“From the day I announced my candidacy, there has been a concerted campaign to destroy my reputation. We wondered who was behind it and why,” the Hawaiian congresswoman continued. “Now we know — it was always you, through your proxies and powerful allies in the corporate media and war machine, afraid of the threat I pose.”

“It’s now clear that this primary is between you and me. Don’t cowardly hide behind your proxies. Join the race directly,” Gabbard challenged.

On Friday, twice-failed Hillary Clinton claimed Gabbard—who was Google’s top searched candidate after the fourth Democratic presidential debate—was working to promote Russian efforts.

The Washington Examiner reports:

Hillary Clinton said that Rep. Tulsi Gabbard is being groomed by Moscow to run as a third-party spoiler candidate in 2020 to help President Trump win reelection.

The former secretary of state pushed the theory on Campaign HQ podcast hosted by David Plouffe, President Barack Obama’s campaign manager in 2008.

Plouffe and Clinton discussed hurdles the Democratic nominee would face and compared the 2020 race to Clinton’s loss to Trump in 2016. Plouffe asked Clinton about the part third-party candidates, such as Jill Stein of the Green Party, played in 2016, allowing Trump to secure key states.

According to the report, Clinton did not specifically mention Gabbard by name but no other females seeking the presidency have been the target of any Russian accusations.

“They are also going to do the third party again,” Clinton said during the podcast. “I’m not making any predictions, but I think they’ve got their eye on somebody who is currently in the Democratic primary and is grooming her to be the third-party candidate.”

She continued: “She is a favorite of the Russians. They have a bunch of sites and bots and other ways of supporting her so far. That’s assuming Jill Stein will give it up, which she might not because she is also a Russian asset.”

Speaking to a group of reporters on Friday evening, Gabbard said Clinton is promoting these accusations “because it’s very clear to her that she knows she can’t control me, that if I’m elected president, then she will not be able to come in & try to influence or manipulate me or the policies that I will lead forward for our country.”

Twitchy reports several people enjoyed Gabbard’s comments:
