‘Uncharted Territory’: Police Find 165 Fetuses In Trunk Of Abortion Doctor’s Car

Law enforcement officers found the remains of 165 fetuses in the trunk of a car that belongs to a recently deceased abortion doctor in Illinois.

The 165 fetal remains are in addition to the more than 2,000 fetal remains law enforcement officials found when investigating the home of Dr. Ulrich Klopfer.

The Washington Examiner reports:

The former physician, Dr. Ulrich Klopfer, was a hoarder during his life, and his family discovered after he died in September that he had stashed away fetal remains in cardboard boxes piled in his garage. On Wednesday, the Indiana attorney general’s office announced the latest finding, discovered in a lot in Dolton, Illinois, that Klopfer owned, which had eight other cars parked on it.

The remains are believed to be from abortions conducted in 2002, said Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill. The initial remains, 2,246 of them, were transported to Indiana from Illinois on Oct. 2.

The Indiana Attorney General described the findings as “uncharted territory” but said they were “following the same protocol for these additional 165 fetal remains that we have already established. We remain committed to ensuring that all these unborn children receive a respectful final disposition here in Indiana.”

According to the report, the deceased doctor previously performed abortions throughout clinics in South Bend, Gary, and Fort Wayne, Illinois, spanning decades.

“Police haven’t found evidence that Klopfer performed abortions on his property or that he performed illegal abortions, but he lost his medical license a few years before he died for poor record-keeping, flouting Indiana laws about waiting periods, and failing to report instances where girls sought abortions after being raped,” the Washington Examiner reports.

Klopfer died early last month at the age of 79.
