What could be more American than buying a Ford, a Bible, a U.S. flag, and an AR-15? Probably not much but, thanks to a Ford dealership in South Carolina, customers can get all four for the price of one.

As BizPac Review reports, Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo said the dealership is running a new promotion called “Cars, God, America, and guns.”

And:

Carolina Ford in Honea Path launched the “God, Guns, and America” marketing plan after a discussion on what appeals to buyers in the town with a population of 3,700, Fox Business’ Lauren Simonetti said on “Mornings with Maria” Wednesday.

As many in the community that bills itself “The Little Town with a Big Heart” are hunting enthusiasts, the idea was born to incorporate rifle sales into the purchase of a car. Every purchase made in the months of October and November will include a free Bible, an American flag and a $400 voucher for a Smith & Wesson AR-15-style rifle.

While the voucher and the other objects are grouped together in the deal, should a customer not want the rifle, they can instead choose to deduct the $400 from the cost of the vehicle.

“You purchase a vehicle [and] you will be actually leaving the dealership with a Bible and your American flag. We will give a voucher to you to go to a local reputable gun store,” Carolina Ford General Manager Derrick Hughes reportedly said.

According to BizPac Review, Hughes said people are coming in from all corners of the country to purchase the patriotic package.

“We’ve had people from as far as Texas [and] Pennsylvania. I think we’ve had a couple of them from Oklahoma,” the general manager said.

Amid security concerns, Hughes is requiring those who receive the $400 voucher to pass a background check. BizPac Review adds:

The $400 voucher can be used at Locked N Loaded, in Abbeville, for a Smith and Wesson AR, or for any other items in the store.

“They can spend it on fishing equipment. They can spend it on hunting [equipment],” owner Jay Ashley told WSPA.

But he also clarified that the store was not just giving the guns away and noted that anyone with a voucher must still pass required background checks.

“What we don’t want is someone who bought a car and they know they can’t buy a firearm to give that to somebody else to come in here and get it,” he said. “Not going to happen! We will squish that. We know the name of the person who bought the car, who signed [for it] and that’s why we require a copy of their driver’s license.”
